The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development changed the geographic boundaries of local workforce development areas across the state of Tennessee.
As a result of this “re-alignment,” Greene, Hancock, and Hawkins Counties have been added to Sullivan, Washington, Carter, Unicoi, and Johnson Counties to make up the new eight (8) county area now known as the Northeast Tennessee Local Workforce Development Area. These counties are served by the Alliance for Business and Training (AB&T). Their website for information is www.ab-t.org.
Claiborne, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Cocke, Union, and Sevier (once part of Local Workforce Development Area 2), have joined with Knox, Campbell, Bount, Scott, Anderson, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, and Roane counties to make up the new sixteen (16) county area now known as the East Tennessee Local Workforce Development Area. These counties are served by the East Tennessee Human Resource Agency (ETHRA). Their website for information is www.ethra.org.
