counties2The Smoky Mountains Area Workforce Board includes representatives from all 10 counties served by the board: Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Sevier and Union.

Board members oversee and direct the activities funded by the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act and other sources. This includes CareerFirst (Youth) and American Job Center services for employers and employees.

This year, Elaine Ely of Sevierville chairs the board. Noah Roark of Greeneville is the vice-chair. Mayor Bill Brittain of Hamblen County is the chairman of the Consortium of Elected Officials, which includes the county mayors of all 10 counties.
