If you need to brush up your skills or learn some new skills, there are many workshops and services offered at the American Job Center at Morristown and the American Job Center at Sevierville. These include:

Resource Centers with computers, with popular software, such as Microsoft Office, free Internet access; job search publications, including local newspapers; fax machines and other job search resources

  • Access to employers and job referrals
  • Job fairs with employers that are hiring
  • Skills training if you are unable to obtain a job with your current skills
  • Skills assessments and refresher programs in job skills such as reading for information
  • Resume workshops
  • Interviewing workshops
  • Basic computer workshops
  • Career counseling
  • Networking
  • Rapid response services for workers that have lost their jobs, including former employees eligible for assistance through the Trade Adjustment Act
  • Career guidance
  • Internet for use when filing unemployment claims
  • Vocational assessments
  • On-the-job training (OJT)
  • Funding for skills training if eligible
  • HiSET instruction – Workshops/Information Sessions

The center at Morristown is located at 215 S Liberty Hill Road, Morristown, TN 37813. The center at Sevierville is located at 1216 Graduate Dr., Sevierville, TN 37862.

Affiliate American Job Center located on the Greeneville and Tazewell campuses of Walters State Community College have trained WIOA career specialists and electronic access to many of the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development resources available at Morristown and Sevierville.
